Our ESG Journey: Building Responsibly for the Future
At Mason Technology, ESG, encompassing sustainability, social responsibility, and strong governance, is not just an aspiration. It is embedded in how we work, make decisions, and support our people and communities. We recognise that ESG is a journey, not a destination. While there is more to do, we are proud of the meaningful progress we’ve made and remain committed to continuous improvement.
Environmental Sustainability
We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint across every part of the business, from the vehicles we drive to the materials used in our workspaces. Our approach is grounded in practical, measurable actions.
Greener Workspaces
Our office environment reflects our belief in responsible design and materials. Workstations and boardroom chairs are sourced from leading ISO 14001 and LEED-compliant European manufacturers, many of which are GREENGUARD certified for healthier indoor air quality. Acoustic screens and ceiling tiles offer sound insulation while meeting strict environmental standards.
Flooring includes Ege carpets that are Cradle to Cradle and Indoor Air Comfort Gold certified, and IVC Jute carpets made with 43 percent recycled material. Paints used throughout the offices are water-based, and energy-efficient LED lighting was installed across all areas.
Motion sensors in meeting rooms, new thermostats, and upgraded cabling (CAT6) help reduce energy use. Bottled water has been replaced with filtered water systems and reusable bottles. Composting and separated recycling streams have been introduced to reduce landfill waste.
Waste and Energy Efficiency
In May 2025, we installed solar panels that now contribute renewable energy back to the grid. EV chargers have been added to support both company and personal electric vehicles. We now have two fully electric vehicles (EVs) officially on the road, representing the next step in our low-emissions transition.
All IT equipment follows a clear lifecycle management process, and electronic waste is handled through certified WEEE recycling providers. Where possible, we now purchase remanufactured A+ laptops and hard drives from an approved partner, helping to reduce e-waste and extend the life of high-quality technology.
Office waste is closely managed. Bins have been removed from desks in favour of centralised recycling points, and food and organic waste is now composted. During our recent office refurbishment, old equipment was either repurposed or recycled, including the donation of a COVID-era hoist for marine use.
Sustainable Travel and Transport
Our company fleet is transitioning to cleaner options, including hybrid and fully electric vehicles, as well as HVO fuel where available. We also support sustainable commuting through a hybrid working model that reduces unnecessary travel.
Employees have access to shower and locker facilities to support cycling and running to work, and we continue to provide resources for home-office setups.
Supplier Sustainability Initiatives
As part of our broader ESG goals, we are also engaging with our supply chain to promote sustainability beyond our own operations. Many of our suppliers are actively advancing their corporate and product-level sustainability initiatives, helping to reduce environmental impact throughout the value chain.

Social Sustainability and Community Support
We believe that business success should go hand in hand with social impact. Our CSR efforts are focused on causes that matter to our team, with particular emphasis on homelessness, education, wellbeing, and local initiatives.
National & Regional Impact Â
Our team supported several meaningful campaigns. These included the Magic of Christmas Appeal, raising funds for children’s charities like Barnardos, Make-A-Wish, and Barretstown through Community Foundation Ireland. In 2024, ten team members also participated in Focus Ireland’s Sleep Out to raise awareness and funds for homelessness.
Employees joined events across the country for Pieta’s Darkness into Light in support of suicide prevention. A company-wide home baking effort raised funds for Our Lady’s Hospice through Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning.
We are committed to helping make science accessible to all students, regardless of background. In recent years, Mason Technology has supported initiatives that promote STEM learning for children and young people from DEIS schools and other underrepresented communities. This includes sponsoring outreach events with the Irish Society for Immunology and supporting inclusive science activities with Maynooth University, helping to inspire curiosity, discovery, and a love of science among the next generation.
Local Community Impact – Dublin 8Â
Our support for the local community is deeply rooted in our presence in Dublin 8. We proudly sponsor Kevins GAA Club, located on Donore Avenue, fostering youth development and sport in the area. We also support St Catherine’s National School on Donore Avenue, most recently in the form of a donation towards the costs of their summer fair.
Our continued partnership with Daisyhouse, also based in Dublin 8, helps provide long-term housing solutions for homeless women and remains a key focus in our community outreach.
At the start of 2025, we held a Jersey Day to raise vital funds for CHI at Crumlin. Located very close to our head office, each year, CHI at Crumlin cares for over 26,500 inpatients, 33,000 day cases, and 90,000 outpatients, supporting children and families from all over Ireland.
Employee-Led Giving
Through our employee-led Giving with Mason CSR Programme, we support local clubs and organisations across Ireland that our people are involved in. This initiative empowers team members to give back to the communities that matter most to them.
Whether through sport, youth development, or cultural enrichment, the programme has supported initiatives such as Moynalty Athletic Club in Meath, Suncroft Athletic FC in Kildare, Boherlahan-Dualla GAA Club in Tipperary, St. Nicks LGFA in Cork, and Master Joe’s Taekwondo in Meath. These are just a few of the many local groups that have benefited from the active involvement and commitment of our employees. By backing the organisations our team members are passionate about, we help strengthen the fabric of communities across the country.
Wellbeing and Workplace Culture
At Mason Technology, we place a strong emphasis on creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture. Our approach to wellbeing is holistic, encompassing physical, mental, and social health, and is deeply embedded in how we engage with and support our people.
Internal Communication and Connection
Our investment in Workvivo, a dedicated internal communications platform, reflects our commitment to transparent and meaningful engagement. It offers employees a space to stay connected, share updates, celebrate milestones, and interact with the wider company community.
Social Engagement and Team Spirit
In addition, our regional social committees play a vital role in fostering a sense of belonging and team spirit. These employee-led groups organise a wide range of activities throughout the year, from in-person social events to virtual initiatives such as the 12 Days of Christmas games. A structured calendar of events has been introduced to ensure consistency and encourage participation across all regions.
Supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing
To support our people through life’s challenges, we offer an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides confidential, 24-7 access to professional counselling and practical guidance. This includes support for mental health, financial wellbeing, family issues, and other personal or work-related concerns. We continue to review and enhance this programme to ensure it remains responsive to the evolving needs of our workforce.
Our focus remains on cultivating a workplace where people feel supported, connected, and empowered to thrive both personally and professionally.
Nature and Biodiversity
Even small steps can contribute to a healthier planet. We sponsor beehives that are maintained by a colleague who is also an experienced beekeeper. These hives are kept on his land and help support local pollinator health and biodiversity.
We’ve also introduced bug hotels around our premises to further promote a thriving environment for beneficial insects.
Environmental Awareness and Engagement
To deepen our impact, we run employee awareness campaigns on energy saving and home sustainability. Seasonal initiatives like Plastic-Free July and our office Book Swap programme encourage sustainable habits while building stronger community ties within the organisation.
