The ProfiClave PCX, from BioToolSwiss, sets a new standard for automated sterile culture media preparation. Connected to any BioTool dish filler it provides a reproducible filling and stacking system.

A new space-saving system equipped with everything needed to simplify culture media preparation and speed up the process. Designed for ease-of-use, operation of the PCX is via a large integral screen using a suite of powerful icon-based software that guides you intuitively, with onscreen support, through the culture media preparation process. Operator safety was paramount in the design of the PCX. The pressure vessel closure is automatic and is temperature and pressure dependent.

At the heart of the PCX is new thermal boiler heating technology that delivers energy-efficient production and an innovative pre-sterilized auto-lock hose connection that minimizes connection time to your media filler while maintaining a contamination-free environment.

The PCX is designed to be economical down to the last milliliter of your culture media, with the sampling tube automatically centering itself at the lowest point of the cuvette.

The ProfiClave PC20, developed by Biotool Swiss, automates benchtop sterilisation, efficiently processing up to 16 litres of ready-to-dispense agar or nutrient medium. With intuitive touchscreen software and 20 customisable settings, it supports various modes, including single or double heating cycles, autoclaving, and water bath functions.

Notably, the time-delay and temperature-timer functions optimise agar pouring at the start of work. In addition, the rapid cool-down capability enhances productivity. The front panel seamlessly integrates control functions, parameter printouts, and a mini SD card slot for added convenience. Moreover, it features a stainless steel cuvette, a pressure pump to prevent flash boiling, an extra-strong magnetic stirrer, and a sterile filter—eliminating the need for bolts or tools.

Furthermore, the pressure correction system adjusts the boiling point based on ambient pressure, ensuring optimal de-aeration. Using this technology, 16 litres of agar can be prepared in just 60 to 90 minutes. When paired with Biotool’s PetriSwiss dish filling system, the PC20 offers a complete solution for precise media preparation.
