Nano-Secondary® Reagents from ChromoTek, available through Mason Technology, provide an innovative alternative to conventional secondary antibodies for fluorescence microscopy, Western blotting and other immunodetection applications. Based on recombinant VHH nanobody technology, Nano-Secondary® Reagents deliver exceptional specificity, reduced background staining and significantly improved imaging resolution. Their small molecular size allows fluorophores or detection labels to be positioned much closer to the target protein, making them particularly valuable for advanced microscopy techniques.

Unlike traditional IgG secondary antibodies, Nano-Secondary® Reagents are approximately one tenth of the size, reducing steric hindrance and improving tissue penetration. This enables more accurate localisation of target proteins while minimising non-specific binding. Recombinant production also ensures excellent batch-to-batch consistency, helping researchers generate reproducible results across long-term studies.

Nano-Secondary® Reagents are compatible with commonly used primary antibodies from a range of host species and are available with different detection formats to suit fluorescence imaging, Western blotting and other protein detection workflows. Their compact structure makes them especially beneficial for super-resolution microscopy where minimising the distance between fluorophore and target protein is essential.
