Triple Red as part of the Avidity Science Group are global experts in the manufacturing of water purification systems for laboratories operating within a multitude of sectors. Partnering with Triple Red Avidity Science allows Mason Technology to advise its laboratory customers on the most appropriate grade of purified water to suit their requirements.
The Duo™-i II.I Laboratory Water Purification Systems, from Avidity Science, is fully integrated to produce up to 30 L/hr of Type II water directly from tap-water. It dispenses up to 2 L/min of both Type II pure water and Type I ultrapure water from a flexible dispenser. Real-time water quality and operating conditions are displayed on the dispensing interface.

Type 2 / DI Water Applications
Type II Water output from the Duo™-i II.I system meets or exceeds Type II water standards as specified by ASTM, CAP, ISO 3696, CLSI, JIS K0557 and Purified Water as described in USP, EP and ChP. Type II water is required for more sensitive laboratory applications such as:
Buffers
pH solutions
Microbiology media preparations
Chemical reagent preparations for analysis and synthesis
As feed water for: – Type I ultrapure water systems – automated glassware washers – clinical analyzers – sterilizers
Type 1 / Ultrapure Water Applications
Type I Water from the Duo™-i II.I system meets or exceeds Type I water standards as specified by ASTM, CAP, ISO 3696, CLSI, JIS K0557 and high-purity water as described in USP, EP and ChP. Type I water is required for critical laboratory applications such as:
The Avidity Science Alto™ I provides 18.2MΩ·cm Ultrapure water on demand. The integrated dispenser or optional remote dispenser provides Type 1 water at up to 2 litres per minute. The output can either be continuous or volumetrically dispensed. TOC monitoring is critical as contaminants can affect results so a real-time TOC reading will provide absolute confidence in the water dispensed. Select the dispense rate required with the intuitive and simple software controls. The Alto™ I also has a quick-change, long-lasting consumable provided in the start-up package.
This compact Type 1 water system can be fed from a Geno™ II, Puro™ III or existing ringman / RO system. This range of bench-top or wall mounted water systems are specifically designed to save laboratory space while providing high-quality water that exceeds all reagent water quality standards through its state-of-the-art water purification technology.
Type 1 / Ultrapure Water Applications
The Alto™ I is suitable for Type 1 water usage of up to 120 litres per hour (adequate feed water must be available). Ultrapure Type 1 water should be reserved for demanding experiments that are sensitive to any ionic contamination, dissolved gases, organics and life science applications that depend on the additional removal of nucleases and pyrogens. These include:
Molecular biology
Electrochemistry
Critical Cell and Tissue Culture
Analytical Chemistry
DNA Sequencing
(GF) AAS, HPLC, IC, ICPMS, GC, MS
Genomics
Proteomics
Immunology
Pharmacology
Any Other Sensitive Applications
Features
Fast dispense of ultrapure water – variable rate of up to 2 litres per minute
Option of remote and/or integrated dispenser
Intuitive, icon-based, interactive user interface with touch screen
Mount on bench, under bench or on the wall
Comprehensive monitoring of water quality including TOC (Total Organic Carbon)
Low Endotoxin, RNase, DNase and Protease option (UF Model) available
Volumetric and drop by drop dispensing
Sustaining Environment and Budget
An energy-saving mode will automatically engage when the system is not in use and will periodically re-circulate the water to maintain quality. Our Endure™ deionisation packs contain more than 3 litres of resin, providing optimum longevity.
What is Ultrapure Water?
For the most demanding applications Type 1, or Ultrapure water, with a resistivity of 18.2MΩ·cm is required. Water with a resistivity of 18.2MΩ·cm can still contain organic contaminants, endotoxins and nucleases which do not impact on resistivity values. It is therefore essential to employ other technologies to eliminate these i.e. Ultraviolet (UV) Photo Oxidation and Ultrafiltration (UF). Equipment producing this quality of water is frequently referred to as a polisher and can be fed from a localised Reverse Osmosis system or a centralised ringmain. A dual wavelength ultraviolet (UV) light (185nm and 254nm) ensures bacteria and organic levels are kept at a very low level. An ultrafilter (UF) can also be combined to produce DNase/RNase free water.
The Avidity Science Puro™ III T (formerly Pico T3) is a complete, “all in one” water purification system which provides RO water with many unique features:
Space-saving footprint with integrated 35L reservoir
Make up rate 10 or 20L/hr with fast dispense
Intuitive, icon-based, interactive user interface with touchscreen
Visual alarms to alert users when system outside of set parameters, e.g. water quality
Wall or bench mounting
Quiet, internal boost pump and patented anti-vibration mountings
Energy consumption of < 60w when processing water
Applications
Type 3 / Reverse Osmosis Water
Glasswasher Feed
Autoclave Feed
Feeding Ultrapure Water Systems
Hydroponics
Steam Generators
Handing You The Control
The intuitive touch-screen control panel gives you instant access to the data you need. Check-up on water quality and how many liters are available in the tank, without taking your gloves off.
Maintaining Quality at a Lower Cost
The economic benefits of the Puro™ III T range continue throughout the life of the product. Replacement of the modules has been designed with ease in mind, meaning that the user can carry out basic and essential maintenance tasks.
The unique reverse osmosis (RO) cartridge has built-in pre-treatment which only requires changing once per year (dependent on usage). This maintains optimum performance with no deterioration of quality from an over-worked RO membrane. The high recovery rate means the cost of waste water is also kept to a minimum.
It is recommended that a full mechanical service is completed by an Avidity Science-trained Service Partner on an annual basis to maintain the integrity of components.
