A look back as we move forward – 2023 in Mason Technology
As 2023 draws to a close, we are delighted to share some highlights of Mason Technology from a year in which we continued to deliver the expertise and specialist support that our valued clients have come to expect from us.
Driving Innovation through Collaboration
Driven by our unwavering commitment to innovation and tailored to the evolving needs of our customers, we formed collaborative partnerships with four new suppliers this year.
In January, we were delighted to announce our exclusive distributorship for Don Whitley Scientific in Ireland. Renowned for designing and manufacturing equipment for a spectrum of microbiology and cell culture applications, the partnership marks a significant stride in our commitment to innovation.
In May, we were named as the exclusive distributor for Buchiglas, a Swiss-based manufacturer specialising in reactors and process equipment for the chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing sector and research institutions.
Building on this momentum, in June, we announced our exclusive distributorship of the NuWave Sensors LumAir and GlanAir product ranges.
In November, we made our fourth and final announcement of the year, highlighting our role as the distributor for Huber high-precision temperature control solutions catering to laboratories, pilot plants, and production processes.
Focused on Enduring Partnerships
With a commitment to building enduring relationships with our suppliers to ensure our customers get access to the best-fit solutions, service, and technical support, the Mettler Toledo Partner Awards in July recognised our remarkable eight-decade-long partnership with the leading manufacturer of laboratory and industrial weighing solutions.
Building Customer and Industry Relationships
2023 was a busy year for events and gave us a fantastic opportunity to get out and meet customers and make new connections.
Mason Technology organised events covered topics such as Method Development for Chromatography, Texture Analysis and Colour Measurement. Roadshows, with partners including Don Whitley Scientific, Buchi, and Eppendorf, saw us visit customers to demonstrate the latest products and innovations.
Industry events including the Microscopy Society of Ireland Symposium, All Ireland Lab & Cleanroom Conference & Exhibition, the Centre for Synthesis and Chemical Biology Symposium, Future in Pharmaceuticals Ireland 2023, the Irish Mass Spectrometry Society Conference, ISPE Ireland Conference and PDA Ireland meetings gave us a chance to meet so many people from the industry and strengthen existing relationships.
Community Support and Social Responsibility
At Mason Technology, we believe in our social responsibility to support the community and its people through various initiatives.
- Movember for Pieta: Our colleagues successfully took on the Movember challenge in November, growing moustaches to raise valuable funds for Pieta, sponsored by both the company and our employees.
- With employees living and working in the 4 provinces of Ireland, our CSR Team-led initiatives, supported a range of charities around the country including Daisyhouse Housing Association, the Irish Cancer Society, The Friends of St. Luke’s Cancer Care, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland Chest, Heart, and Stroke, NMH Foundation, Belong To LGBTQ+ Youth Ireland, Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, and the Irish Society for Immunology Outreach events for DEIS Schools.
Sustainability at the Core
Promoting sustainability and green initiatives is a core focus for us. This commitment was evident in decisions made during the recent renovation of our Dublin head offices:
- Environmental Prioritisation: We sourced ISO 14001 certified carpets and flooring, eco-responsible materials with Cradle to Cradle and Indoor Air Comfort Gold certifications.
- Energy Efficiency: New energy-efficient LED lighting replaced fixtures, along with thermostat controls, acoustic-insulated ceiling tiles, and CAT6 cabling for efficiency.
Our Green Team led several employee-focused initiatives during the year, including the phasing out of single-use cups, No Mow May, and education around ways to reduce energy consumption at home and in the workplace.
A Gold for the Mason Bees
Under the watchful eye of beekeeper Anthony Guinan, the Mason Technology bee family has flourished, along with Anthony’s beekeeping skills. In only his second year as a beekeeper, Anthony was delighted to earn the gold medal for his honey at the Rathcormac Autumn Show.
Employee Recognition and Growth
With an ethos of placing the customer at the centre of everything we do, our employees play a crucial role in ensuring we consistently deliver exceptional service. Achieving Great Places to Work Certification at the start of the year, with an impressive 98% of respondents expressing pride in working for Mason Technology, attests to our commitment to fostering a work environment focused on trust, respect, pride, and fun. Experiencing a 10% increase in employee numbers, we were delighted to welcome new team members to multiple departments across the company.
Continuous Improvement focused on Customer Satisfaction
Meeting and exceeding customer expectations is paramount to us. To support this, we implemented a Customer Satisfaction Survey Programme in 2022 and we have continued to develop and improve this throughout 2023.
