BÜCHI Labortechnik AG has expanded its trusted Rotavapor portfolio with the launch of the new Rotavapor R-180, engineered for simplicity, reliability, and everyday laboratory performance. Accommodating flasks up to 3 L, the cost-effective R-180 bridges the gap between the compact R-80 (1 L) and the fully automated R-300 (5 L), making it ideal for routine evaporation tasks across a range of laboratory settings.

The Rotavapor R-180 continues BÜCHI’s long-standing tradition of quality, versatility, and lasting durability. Designed to deliver consistent results, it offers reliable evaporation performance at an attractive price point and practical size.

The system is compatible with a wide range of accessories to streamline workflows and enhance flexibility, including:

• Four glass assembly options, including a back-feeding configuration, to match specific application needs.
• The Interface I-80 / I-180 for precise operation and efficient vacuum control.
• The Vacuum Pump V-80 / V-180, providing quiet operation and reduced bumping.
• The Recirculating Chiller F-180, using natural refrigerants (GWP 3) and supporting up to two Rotavapors for energy-efficient cooling.

Smart design for crowded laboratories

Given that bench space is at a premium in many labs, the Rotavapor R-180 has been designed for maximum flexibility. To illustrate, its interface can be rotated up to 90 degrees, thereby providing clear visibility and convenient access from different working positions. In addition, the compact design allows the vacuum pump to be positioned on top of the chiller. An optional secondary condenser can be mounted to the side, thus optimising available space without compromising performance.

Safety built in

Developed with user safety in mind, the R-180 includes:

• IP42 protection against water splashes for added security in busy lab environments.
• An electric lift that automatically raises the flask from the bath during a power outage, protecting samples from overheating.
• Safety-coated glassware to help reduce sample loss in the event of breakage.
