ICPMS-2030 Shimadzu’s Proprietary Mini-Torch Plasma System Based on Shimadzu’s extensive experience developing ICP emission spectrometers, Shimadzu’s independently developed mini-torch unit offers unrivalled performance and savings. One of the highest costs associated with ICPMS systems is the large quantity of argon gas they consume. However, Shimadzu’s proprietary mini- torch plasma system consumes two thirds the argon gas (10 L/min) as conventional plasma torches. Furthermore, during standby when Eco mode is active, the plasma gas flow and power are reduced to 5 L/min and 0.5 kW to minimize the required gas and electricity; however, analysis can be started immediately with no loss of productivity.

The LCMS-2020 is a single quadrupole mass spectrometer that is compatible for the first time with ultra high-speed liquid chromatography. It is optimised for the Prominence UFLC/UFLCXR Ultra Fast Liquid Chromatograph. Novel patent-pending technologies offer significantly enhanced scan speed and positive-negative ion polarity switching time, which are essential for UFLC, and simultaneously boost sensitivity. The instrument combines the excellent compound selectivity that is a feature of the mass spectrometer with significantly enhanced total productivity – from method development to analysis. The LCMS-2020 plays a useful role in a range of fields, including the synthesis of compounds in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Features
UF Switching: To detect both positive and negative ions, analysis is performed while switching between the positive and negative ionization modes. The LCMS-2020 adopts patented high-voltage power supply technology (Patent: US7855355) to achieve an ultra-fast polarity switching time of just 15 msec.
UF sensitivity: Superior sensitivity, repeatability, and linearity are achieved, thanks to the newly developed Qarray® optics.
UFscanning: In MS scanning, a range of mass to charge ratios are determined in successive 0.1 m/z steps. This is controlled by applying a rapidly changing voltage to the quadrupole (quadrupole rods). By adopting Shimadzu’s proprietary scanning technology (Patent: US8188426), high ion transmission is achieved without sacrificing sensitivity or resolution, even during high-speed scans up to 15,000 u/sec. Very narrow UFLC peaks can now be properly detected in scan mode acquisition.

LabSolutions CS, from our partner Shimadzu, features an innovative operating environment and provides complete data management to ensure secure information in networked laboratories.
LCs and GCs are used extensively in quality control and research and development departments in a wide range of industries, including pharmaceutical, chemical, and food. Recently, an increasing demand for food safety and environmental analysis and measurement has led to a dramatic increase in the number of samples being analyzed which, in turn, has resulted in demands for faster, easier-to-use instruments and software. In the pharmaceutical industry, compliance to regulations and guidelines, such as CSV and PIC/S GMP, U.S. FDA 21 CFR Part 11, Data Integrity and so on, and the proper, efficient management of instruments and analytical data are required. With this background, faster, more efficient management of instruments and data is essential. LabSolutions is a network-compatible analysis data system capable of meeting these needs.

Imaging mass spectrometry is a revolutionary new technology and the accurate and high resolution mass images from the Shimadzu iMScope will drive your research to the next level
The iMScope TRIO instrument is a combination of an optical microscope which allows the observation of high resolution morphological images, with a mass spectrometer which identifies and visualises the distribution of specific molecules. Superimposing the two images obtained based on these very different principles, has created a significant new research tool, the imaging mass microscope.
Featues of the iMScope TRIO
High spatial resolution: high-resolution imaging offered by optical microscopes is required not only for pharmacokinetic analysis, but also for toxicity testing and toxicity mechanism analysis. Analysis of the retina and skin requires imaging with high spatial resolution.
Overlaying MS images and optical microscope morphological images reveals the difference between the amounts of specific molecules in each minute organ and can relate molecular distribution to the biological functions of an organelle and morphological changes.
High speed analysis: samples are measured at a fast 6 pixels per second*, dramatically shortening your experiment time.
In pharmacokinetic analysis, the iMScope TRIO enables the distribution of unchanged and metabolized drugs to be simultaneously mapped in a single measurement, without any labeling. The laser diameter used during mass spectrometry imaging with the iMScope TRIO is continuously variable from 5 to 200 μm, offering low to high spatial resolution. This helps ensure that analyses are performed as efficiently as possible.
MS and MS/MS Imaging: Even if a molecule cannot be identified in the MS spectra, due to multiple molecules coexisting at the same mass (peak), these can be distinguished and visualized (rendered to images) by MS/MS analysis.
